Sew Celebrate does not carry everything, and that is the point. The shop is built around the Kaffe Fassett Collective — the designers whose work rewards a quilter who chooses colour before pattern.
What sets the Collective apart is a purposeful mis-match of colour, pattern and scale — fabrics that look happened upon rather than coordinated.
Founder of the Collective
Came to textiles through painting and knitwear, and became the first living textile artist to have a one-man show at the V&A. Roman Glass was his first printed fabric and is still in the line.
Large-scale florals
Detailed botanical prints drawn from historic fabrics, scaled up until a single repeat can carry a whole quilt. Best bought as yardage.
The rhythm section
Raised on the coast of South Wales. His flat, graphic repeats are what hold a busy palette together — the print you reach for when everything else is shouting.
Newest voice
A celebrated surface designer long admired for painterly florals and fearless colour. Her creative history alongside Kaffe made her a natural addition to the Collective.

PJ built Sew Celebrate around a single conviction: a quilt succeeds or fails on colour long before the first seam is sewn. That belief led her to the Kaffe Fassett Collective and to the designers who work in the same painterly tradition. Every bundle that leaves Fancy Gap is assembled by hand, with the contrast and the temperature already balanced.

Longtime customers will remember where it began. When PJ first opened her quilt shop, she was known for tuffets — she made them to order, finished them for quilters who preferred to sew their own, and taught the technique to anyone who asked. Tuffets are no longer part of the business, but the habit they instilled remains: a fussy eye for how a print behaves once it is cut, pieced, and pulled around a curve.
